Joe Sal Asks:Where is a good place in South Florida to get really dark skies with not a lot of bugs?
With respect to bugs, unfortunately this is Florida so it depends a lot on how much it rains. Regarding dark sites, at SFAAA we have a few sites that we go out with darker skies but you need to be a member of the Club in order to visit those places. The reason is that we have agreements between SFAAA and the agencies/entities that manage those areas and they have established certain requirements for us to use those sites for astronomy. Please, we invite you to come over and join the club. We have several opportunities to go in groups to those dark sites. Thank you for contacting us and keep looking up.
